Negotiate a Debt Settlement
Negotiation tips for debt settlement?
I'm about to negotiate with a collector on a debt. I want to either make monthly payments or a reduced lump sum. What's the best thing to say to the collector (without blatant lying) that'll make the collector more agreeable? Also, what is the best time of the week or day to call?

- Alot of collectors will not negotiate payments. I can tell you that right off. It is probably best to go for a reduced settlement and be done with it. Call them in the mid-morning at least by then they've had their morning coffee and they may be a little more agreeable since they haven't had contact with very many people that time of the morning. good luck
