Negotiate a Debt Settlement

Credit card debt?

When a CC debt is charged off and sent to a collection law firm. Can you still call the original CC company and negotiate a settlement instead of dealing with the agency?

  1. Always. Legally the only company you have contracted with is the original lender; they can ask anyone they want to collect it; but a collection agent is not the owner of the debit.
  2. Yes you can............
  3. Sometimes, the CC company sells the debt to an agency at a reduced rate. The agency then takes over the debt and pursues you.
  4. No, The debt has been sold (usually for pennies on the dollar). The original company does not have an interest in the transaction any longer. Read the following. http://www.creditinfocenter.com/debt/settle_debts.shtml
  5. You should use "Credit Solutions" to settle your debt. They managed to reduce my debt up to 58% and improve my credit score.Legitimate as I came accross this company on NBC News Special Edition: http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1813149-10467845
