Negotiate a Debt Settlement

Has anyone tried a company called debt jurisprudence inc.? They claim to be able to eliminate debt completely.

The company claims that they can completely eliminate your debt for a $4500 dollar fee. I couldnt find any thing negative about them on the internet but they were not even listed in the better business bureau. When I spoke to someone over the phone they seemed believable. Is it too good to be true?

  1. Too good to be true? Yes. Companies that claim that they can just eliminate your debt are almost always scammers. The only way to eliminate debt is to a) pay it off; b) file bankruptcy; or, c) negotiate with the debt holder to accept less. A scam has risen in the past few years where scammers claim that banks and credit card companies are actually breaking the when they issue you debt and if you file some magical paperwork (that they will gladly sell you) that points out the illegality to the bank they will just erase your debt. Unfortunately for you, this doesn't work and leaves you in worse financial shape than you are already in. My guess is that if you pay the $4500 you will be $4500 poorer and still have the debt at the end of it. When you complain to the company they will either have disappeared or they will say: "You must have did something wrong....sorry, no refunds."
