Does anyone know the difference between Debt Settlement Companies and CCCs Companies? Which is better? I have some credit card debt and I don't know what credit card company to consider, either a "CCCS" or Debt Settlement company. Is there a better alternitive to either?

Does anyone have specific language from a contract with a collection agency. Debt settlement Contract? I have agreed to pay $200.00 on a balance of $382.94 as a settlement amount wiping the debt to a zero balance. I want a contract to state this using specific language protecting me from bad reports on my credit. For example "settlement" or "Paid as agreed" etc. I do not want to give the collection agency any way to twist or re-assign my debt. Please advise. Your experience? Specific language requested.

Does anyone know of a good U.S. debt settlement company? I have about $27,000 in bad debt and want to start paying it off. I don’t want a credit counseling program, I want a company that negotiates and settles debts for less then the balances are. I heard that many are rip offs and don’t need any more problems. I have spoken to a few, debt settlement usa; which I have a really bad feeling about because the rep I spoke to lied to me more then once. And the other 3 companies were similar in their answers. Also many of them are only sales people that have been harassing me to enroll. Dont want any more BS! If anyone out there knows a good debt settlement program, please provide a link to the company so that I can find them. Please only serious answers, I only want to hear from people who have experienced service with the company….. Also please tell me if you have hired a company and had a bad experience...

Is credit card debt settlement bad for your credit? I am a senior in college, I have no job now as I am finishing school. I start work in June, and I actually have good credit, over 700, and 5k in credit card debt. I've paid my bill in full always in the past until my last killer spring break. Debt settlement sounds cool to cut the debt in half which I would pay off with a lump sum, or should I just stomach it for another month where I can pay it all off entirely in full. Thanks.
does anyone know "Debt Settlement of America" company? I have to deal with the debt collector for my credit card debt. And I found this company. They are going to charge me 30% of the amount between the current balance and the settlement. But they told me they are not going to charge the initinal fee. if anyone knows about this company or got an experience(either good or bad), please let me know. are there any debt settlement companies that are legitimate? I have several old debts at least three years old that have been put into collections...haven't been able to pay on any in years. Looking to pay off but cannot make very high monthly payments so the CCS seems like it wouldn't work since I have SO many creditors to work with and so little money. The credit counseling pays off the whole balance due which has been greatly increased unecessarily. Looking for some debt reduction and a monthly payment option. Is debt settlement right?

What is the difference between consolidation and debt settlement company? I called creditsolutions a minute ago and they told me that they are not a consolidation company. I told them that I have a debt for 16,000. They told me that they can get my debt company to settle for 9,800. and they charge a 15% fee. Does this sounds okay. Please recommend me to some other company but not consolidation I do not want to consolidate I want a debt settlement company. That I would still pay, I heard when these consolidation company pays for me It haunts my credit score.

What is the best program for consolidating or debt settlement? I need to consolidate my debts, either by getting a loan (unlikely with my credit) or through a settlement company. I want to use a good one, though, so does anyone have any recommendations? I could easily file bankruptcy with my income and lack of assets, but I would rather pay off the debts. Some of the collections are hostile, now, though, because I have so many different ones after me that I can't possibly make my payments each month to each of them. This all stems from two hospital trips earlier this year. I don't even own a credit card, so I'm not financially irresponsible. Just poor and uninsured. The company we are considering going with so that we dont have to file bankrupt has an EXCELLANT report from the better business bureau..... I have read through all the sites and everything and this seems like a good idea so that you can "settle" your debts and get out of debt quicker.... we are in credit counseling now but Its taking forever and we cant afford it anymore... Can your employer terminate you if you file for bankruptcy or possibly debt settlement? Negative to organ? Am considering debt settlement but afraid that the banking instituion I work for will view it negatively if known with the bad effect it will have on my credit for the next 2-3 years until complete. Can they terminate you for that? Live in Florida, not sure about differences in state, I know Florida can be unique.

Has anyone completed the debt settlement program with Enhanced Debt Assistance? and if so what was the outcome Debt settlement program out of Texas I am aware of the rip off report and they assure me this was a one time incident with an impatient customer.
